Stop Doing These 7 Things
Seven things that sabotage rest, and number three is the one that almost cost me everything. Not dramatic for the sake of drama. Honest because honesty is what this page is about.
Number one: checking your phone in the first ten minutes after waking up. You are handing your peace to other people's agendas before your feet hit the floor. Number two: saying yes to things that drain you because saying no feels rude. It is not rude. It is self-preservation.
Number three: telling yourself you will rest "after this." After this project. After this season. After this milestone. This is the one that nearly broke me. Because "after this" is a lie that renews itself automatically. There is always a next this. If you are waiting for the perfect time to rest, you will wait forever.
Number four: treating scrolling as rest. It is not. Number five: drinking caffeine after 2pm and then wondering why you cannot sleep. Number six: measuring your day by what you produced instead of how you feel. Number seven: refusing to delegate because "nobody does it like I do."
Each of these is a rest saboteur hiding in plain sight. You are probably doing at least three of them right now. Not because you are weak. Because the culture normalized them. Awareness is the first step. Which of these seven are you ready to stop this week?
