Six Months of Choosing Differently

Six months ago, this page began with a simple, almost stubborn idea: that rest was not a weakness, and that

choosing a different pace than the culture demanded was not just acceptable but necessary. What started as a

conviction has slowly become a practice, shared by more people than could have been anticipated at the start.

This is not a milestone marked by impressive statistics or dramatic transformation stories, though there have been

real changes in real lives along the way. It is a milestone marked by something quieter and, in some ways, more

significant: consistency. Showing up, week after week, to a conversation that goes against the dominant cultural

narrative.

The community that has formed around this idea did not happen because rest is a trendy topic, though it has

certainly become more visible in recent years. It happened because enough people recognized something true in

the message and decided to practice it, imperfectly, alongside others doing the same thing. That collective

imperfect practice is more powerful than any individual perfect example could be.

Building something over six months means witnessing the small, unglamorous work of habit formation happen in

real time. Not every post landed. Not every week felt like progress. But the cumulative effect of consistent

practice, even imperfect practice, produces change that a single dramatic gesture never could.

Thank you for showing up here, for resting imperfectly alongside this community, and for choosing a different pace

even when it was inconvenient or countercultural to do so. What has this community meant to you over these six

months? The honest answer, whatever it is, matters.
