Sacred Transitions

The space between seasons is one of the most neglected territories in modern life. The gap between summer and fall. The week between finishing one project and starting the next. The days between leaving one job and beginning another. We rush through these transitions as if they are empty space to be filled rather than sacred ground to be honored.

Transitions are not dead time. They are integration time. The space where your body and mind process what just happened before they are asked to engage with what is next. Skipping this integration is like reading the next chapter of a book before you have absorbed the current one. You can do it, but comprehension suffers.

The space between summer and fall is a transition. Summer had its own lessons, its own gifts, its own challenges. Before you rush into the next season with its new demands, pause in the gap. Let summer settle. Let the lessons land. Let your body register the change before your calendar forces the pace.

Transitions are sacred because they are rare. You only get a few each year. The ones between seasons. The ones between life chapters. The ones between who you were and who you are becoming. Rush them and you miss the transformation they are designed to facilitate.

How are you resting in this transition? Not how are you preparing for fall. How are you honoring the space between what was and what will be?
