Two Weekends Left

Count them. Two summer weekends left. Not two chances to catch up on everything you did not accomplish since June. Not two more opportunities to optimize. Two chances to rest in the way that only summer allows.

There is a quality to summer rest that does not exist in any other season. The longer evenings. The warmer air. The general cultural permission to slow down. That quality is expiring. In two weeks, the pace changes. The light shifts. The cultural default returns to busy.

These weekends matter more than you think. Not because of what you do during them but because of how they feel. In October, when the days are short and the demands are high and everything feels urgent, you will reach back in your memory for something sustaining. And the thing you reach for will not be the weekend you were productive. It will be the weekend you were at peace.

Make these weekends memorable in the way that matters. Not Instagram memorable. Soul memorable. The kind of rest that sinks into your bones and stays there as a reminder that peace is possible, even when the season changes.

How are you spending this weekend? Not what are you accomplishing. How are you spending it? Slowly, I hope. Intentionally. With the awareness that this particular kind of rest has an expiration date.
