July is over. Thirty-one days of summer, gone. And before August arrives with its back-to-school anxiety and its end-of-summer urgency, one question deserves an honest answer: did you actually rest?
Not did you post about rest. Not did you agree with the idea of rest. Not did you buy a book about rest or save a reel about rest or tell someone else they should rest more. Did you, personally, in your actual body, rest?
Did your nervous system feel different at any point this month? Did your mind get genuinely quiet, even for an afternoon? Did you say no to something that would have drained you and feel good about it afterward? Did you go to bed at a reasonable hour more nights than not? Did you spend time doing something purely for enjoyment with zero productive agenda?
If the answers are mostly yes, keep going. You are building something. The rhythm is taking shape. If the answers are mostly no, that is not a failure. That is data. And August, which starts tomorrow, is a completely fresh page.
One word. That is all I am asking. How was your rest in July? Drop it below. No explanation needed. The word itself tells the story.
